The First Assistant to The Senior Bishop

The Right Reverend James Ruffin

The Founder & Pastor

of

The Sounds Of A New Beginning Church Ministries

The Reverend James Ruffin (1st Assistant of ACMI)  Is foremost a servant of all men. He is a relentless fighter for the Body of Christ and Chief Servant. A Man of God who preaches “outside the box” and believes the Word where it reads, “and we know that all thing work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 esv).”  He was Called to  the Office of Deacon in January 1998 and Ordained as a Deacon in January 1991 at the Greater Community Baptist Church by Reverend Mark Higginbottom.

He later joined the New Life Resurrection Baptist Church in 2002 and preached his trial sermon on December 29, 2002.  The Message title, “Give up, and Sell out.”  He was licensed and ordained as a Minister of the Gospel shortly thereafter on March 24, 2003 by Pastor Lora Davis.  It is there he served faithfully as a minister, Co-Pastor, and finally Elder.

In March 2004, he preached his mother’s Homegoing Celebration at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church Roxbury.  The sermon was entitled, “Where To from Here,” which was a prophetic Word because on November 2, 2008 he accepted the position as Pastor-Elect (from a pool of three candidates) at the Lily of the Valley Baptist Church in Mattapan, MA.  On October 8, 2009, he became the Pastor of Lily of the Valley Baptist Church.

On March 12, 2017 Pastor James Ruffin took a leap of faith, and started a new kingdom work with the support of sixty-one faithful followers.  He now serves as the Pastor of Sounds of A New Beginning  Church Ministries.

James Ruffin is the youngest son of the late Ernest and Jessie Ruffin, he grew up with five siblings, two of which are deceased.  He was born and raised in Boston, Ma. and joined the St. John Missionary Baptist Church as an adolescent  and served there faithfully for over 18years.  He remains a faithful husband to the love of his life, Ms Patricia Ann Moore and they have two children and seven grandchildren.
